body
BACKGROUND
The Nutanix software license for Orange County Sanitation District’s (OC San) Industrial Control System (ICS) network will expire in August 2025. OC San uses a system called Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) to handle all of its computer and data storage needs for both ICS and Office networks. This system is designed for high availability and performance, bringing together both computing power and storage into one easy-to-manage platform.
RELEVANT STANDARDS
• Protect OC San assets
• Ensure the public’s money is wisely spent
• 24/7/365 treatment plant reliability
• Maintain a culture of improving efficiency to reduce the cost to provide the
current service level or standard
PROBLEM
The current Nutanix Software License expires in August 2025. A lapse in coverage could impact OC San’s computing environments.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
Renew Nutanix Software License and Support Agreement.
TIMING CONCERNS
Renewing the Nutanix Software License is imperative for the continued support and safety of plant operations.
RAMIFICATIONS OF NOT TAKING ACTION
A decision not to renew OC San’s Nutanix Software License means the solution would no longer be supported, security patches could not be applied, and use of Nutanix products would not be legal.
