BACKGROUND
The Orange County Sanitation District (Sanitation District) is constructing a new Headquarters Complex including a 110,000-square foot, three-story office building to house the entrance lobby, Board Room, and offices for most of the Sanitation District’s administrative and engineering staff. The new building was designed to meet the latest design codes, as well as to provide an energy efficient and sustainable design. The Board of Directors has requested an update on how the new Headquarters building design will address pandemic safety concerns that have arisen with COVID-19.
The design consultant, HDR Engineering, Inc., has performed an initial evaluation to determine what design modifications might be implemented or further considered to address pandemics. Staff will present a summary of these initial findings.
